View online version Welcome to our second Preschool monthly e-news! This month's e-news has lots of important dates in and news about the upcoming coffee morning. Also please can you ensure that your child has appropriate clothing for this time of year as we will be going out for walks so please make sure they have their winter coats, gloves and hats.If we get any snow this year please check the website before setting out or phone 07891 093523 as this will let you know if the preschool is open or not. Jacquie goes full time! We are delighted to announce that from January 2015 Jacquie who currently works in the team will be a full time member of staff. Jacquie has over 20 years experience in Childcare and is a welcome addition to the team. Coffee morning - 18th December We will be having a coffee morning on the 18 December where there will be a chance to do some last minute Christmas shopping and you will also be able to buy some craft that the children have made. All profits will go directly to the preschool so that we can buy some new equipment. We are delighted to have a Phoenix card stall as well as an aromatherapy stall. There will also be a bring and buy cake sale and if anyone wants to bring a cake to sell that would be great. We will also have a raffle so if anyone would like to donate a raffle prize please bring one along before the 18 December. Please note that the 18 December is the last day of term 19 December The preschool leaders will be meeting for parent consultations on this day. Please sign up to see your child’s keyworker. The lists will be up in the corridor from 8 December. Lotto! The lotto launch last month was a great success and the draw took place in front of the parents at the end of the month. Ruth won half the money and the other half went to buy new resources for the children, a big thank you to everyone who took part. The next lotto will take place at the coffee morning on the 18th so if you haven’t picked your lucky square yet please make sure to have a go before the 18th. Don't forget - we are a charity, so any help you can give goes towards educating your children. Have your say! We are always looking for more parents to join the Pre-School committee. We meet once every six weeks and we would really appreciate any time you can give. If you would like to talk to one of the committee about the time involved in helping please ask Ruth or fill out the form on our web site! Join now! Have you got a couple of hours spare a month? Would you like to learn more about the preschool? Would you like to help with fundraising? Apsley lock preschool is a charity. It is run by Ruth and the preschool committee which is made up of parents but can include external people as well. We are currently looking for new members to help us with fundraising, newsletter and to help make the preschool the best possible place for the children. We meet as a committee once every 6-8 weeks. If you think this is something that you would be interested in or you would like to find out more please speak to Ruth or fill out the online form and she will point out the committee members to you. Our next meeting is the 3 February so why not come and see what we do. We are also looking for a Chairperson for the Committee. Any parents who would like an active role in the day to day running of the school or anyone who would simply like to enhance their CV please speak to Ruth. East more - Raise more!! We have negotiated with the lovely people at Marina Spice Lounge and also Calzone to help us raise some funds for the Pre-School. They have agreed to donate 15% of your bill directly to the Pre-School! In order to qualify, you need to prove you are a parent, so please pickup a loyalty card from Pre-School and present it to the participating restaurant.
